This table base was first built as a commission for a client and inspired by nature and their appeal for curves. This base can be paired with a traditional rectangular tabletop or live edge depending in your style. Available in any size and wood species, this elegant design is built to be a statement piece and last your family for generations with its solid wood construction and joinery.

A trestle style table base offers several distinct benefits. First and foremost is its stability. The trestle design typically features two sturdy supports joined by a horizontal beam, providing a solid foundation that minimizes wobbling and ensures the table remains steady, even when bearing heavy loads. This stability is especially advantageous for large dining tables where durability is essential.

Additionally, trestle style tables offer versatility in seating arrangements. Unlike tables with legs at each corner, trestle tables have open space beneath them, allowing for more flexibility in seating placement. This design accommodates a greater number of chairs without interference from table legs, making it ideal for gatherings and social events.

Furthermore, the trestle style exudes timeless elegance and rustic charm, adding character and visual interest to any space. Whether used in a farmhouse-style kitchen, a modern dining room, or a cozy home office, trestle tables make a statement with their classic design and understated sophistication.

More about Wood...

We have several wood species options to choose from. They all have their pros and cons but of course...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

American Black Walnut

Description: A rich, dark hardwood prized for deep brown color and elegant grain that grows richer with age.

Pros: Luxurious appearance, durable, ages beautifully, works with many finishes.

Cons: More expensive

Hard/Soft Maple

Description: A lighter-toned wood (creamy white to pale tan) that warms to an amber tone over time.

Pros: Strong, affordable, versatile, smooth and consistent look.

Cons: Will amber with age—note if a cool/light tone is required.

Black Cherry

Description: Warm, reddish-brown hardwood that darkens beautifully with time and light.

Pros: Tight grain, strong and hard, easy to work, elegant aging.

Cons: Strong natural red tone—hard to avoid if a different color is desired.

White Oak

Description: Timeless hardwood with light–medium brown tones

Pros: Very durable, water-resistant., rot-resistant, excellent for solid surfaces.

Cons: Open-grained texture—if you want a super smooth feel, consider a tighter-grained species.

Ash

Description: Light-colored hardwood with straight, uniform grain; resembles oak but often more affordable.

Pros: Takes stain exceptionally well, strong yet workable, affordable.

Cons: Open-grained texture—if a smoother feel is preferred, you may want to avoid.

Hickory

Description: Striking contrast between light and dark grain; known for extreme strength.

Pros: Extremely hard and durable; great for heavy-use furniture.

Cons: Weight! Hickory is Very heavy.

Red Oak

Description: Common hardwood with light–medium tones and pronounced grain.

Pros: More affordable than other oaks, durable, widely available.

Cons: Open grain and often considered overused/less desirable than White Oak.

We also have other less-common and more exotic wood species (both domestic and imports from other countries) such as Sapelle, Monkey Pod, Wenge, Zebra Wood, Olive Wood etc.
